Corded mattress and upholstery vacuum with 700 watts, a 24.5 cm wide beating brush, hot air up to 65 °C, UV-C light with safety switches, a dust sensor and a disassemblable 0.5-litre container. In my test it pulled visibly fine dust, fibres and hair out of a regularly cleaned couch and mattress.

A couch or mattress can look clean at first glance and still contain a surprising amount of fine dust, hair and fibres. That is exactly what the JIMMY BX7 Pro Max is made for: it is not an ordinary floor vacuum but a dedicated mattress and upholstery vacuum with a beating brush, warm air and UV-C light.
In my practical test it had to show what is really still inside our regularly cleaned couch and mattress. The result was above all one thing: visible.
The JIMMY BX7 Pro Max arrives fully assembled. Besides the device, the box contains a small cleaning brush, an additional filter and the manual.
With 700 watts of power, the vacuum runs directly from the wall socket. There is no battery. For a device like this that is not necessarily a disadvantage, because the suction power stays constant throughout the cleaning session, and you do not have to think about a fading battery either.
The permanently attached power cable is five metres (16 ft) long. That lets you clean a couch or a complete double bed without constantly changing sockets. You are of course not entirely cordless, but the cable length gives enough freedom of movement in everyday use.
The transparent dust container sits on top of the device and can be removed with a few movements. What is especially practical is that you can see directly how much dirt is being picked up.
With a capacity of just under 0.5 litres, the container is well sized for cleaning upholstery, cushions and mattresses. It can be completely disassembled for maintenance.

After every major cleaning session I would check the container and empty it right away if possible. Fine mattress dust in particular settles on the filter quickly. If the parts are cleaned with water, they must be completely dry before the next use.
On the underside sits the wide composite brush roll. It combines soft bristles with flexible rubber strips and is driven by its own motor. During cleaning it noticeably beats on the surface, which is meant to loosen deeper-seated dust from upholstery and mattresses without damaging the fabric.
The entire suction opening measures around 24.5 cm (9.6 in). That lets you cover a larger area with every pass. The concept is a particularly good fit for:
For narrow gaps, on the other hand, the BX7 Pro Max is less suitable. Its strength clearly lies on open, flat surfaces.
The brush roll can be removed, which helps when longer hair or fibres have wrapped around it.
Next to the brush roll are the heating surfaces and the hot air outlet. According to the manufacturer, the BX7 Pro Max uses a graphene heater that reaches temperatures of up to 65 °C (149 °F). The warm air is clearly noticeable during cleaning.
The device also has UV-C light. JIMMY states a removal rate of over 99.99 percent for mites and bacteria. Such manufacturer claims cannot be verified independently in a normal household test. What can be judged is how the device works and what visibly ends up in the container.
The safety function of the UV-C light is important: two switches on the underside make sure it is only activated when the device lies flat on a surface. If you lift the vacuum or tilt it too far, the UV function switches off automatically.
Operation stays pleasantly simple. There are only two buttons on top of the device. One switches the vacuum on, the other cycles through the three cleaning modes:
For the most thorough cleaning, the full mode with suction, beating and UV-C light is the obvious choice. The vacuum should be guided as flat as possible so that the safety switches stay reliably pressed.
On top of that there is an intelligent dust sensor with a colour indicator. If the indicator lights up red, the device detects heavier soiling. You can then work those spots more slowly or several times instead of just passing quickly over the whole surface.
For the first test the dust container was completely empty. The couch is cleaned regularly and really looked clean before the start. I cleaned slowly, lane by lane, in the full mode with suction, beating and UV-C light.
The vibrating brush roll is clearly noticeable while working. Thanks to the wide design, seat cushions, backrests and larger pillows can be worked well. Where the dust sensor indicated heavier soiling, I deliberately worked more slowly.
After cleaning came the surprise: the container already held a visible amount of fine dust, fibres and hair. Particularly striking was the almost powdery dust that was not visible on the fabric before.
For the mattress test the container was first emptied completely so the result could be judged separately. After removing the duvet and pillows, I again went slowly over the entire mattress surface.
Even a regularly cleaned mattress collects skin flakes, textile fibres, hair and house dust over time. The wide underside of the JIMMY BX7 Pro Max glides evenly over the mattress. The dust sensor again indicates areas with heavier soiling, so you can do another, slower pass there.
After cleaning there was once more fine dust, fibres and small hairs in the container. With a mattress that is not necessarily a pretty sight, but a clear sign that superficially clean does not automatically mean deep clean.
Important: the vacuum may only be used on dry surfaces. Water and damp dirt must not be vacuumed up.
The JIMMY BX7 Pro Max does not replace a normal floor vacuum. It is intended as an addition for mattresses, upholstered furniture, pillows and other textile surfaces. In exactly this area the concept makes sense.
The JIMMY BX7 Pro Max convinces above all with its visible cleaning result. Both the regularly cleaned couch and the mattress gave up fine dust that was not visible before.
Particularly well done are the wide beating brush, the disassemblable dust container, the dust sensor and the long power cable. Hot air, UV-C light and negative ions are interesting extras, even though their actual effect on mites and bacteria cannot be assessed independently here.
For households with a lot of upholstered furniture, pets or a sensitivity to house dust, the JIMMY BX7 Pro Max can be a practical addition to normal cleaning. If you want to clean mattresses, pillows and fabric sofas more intensively on a regular basis, you get a device that is tailored exactly to this task.
