The Bob and Brad 721 is no gentle wellness toy for on the side. If you are looking for a foot massager with really noticeable kneading, air compression and heat, you get plenty of pressure on your feet here.
I tried the device on the couch in the evenings for two weeks. My impression: the Bob and Brad 721 is the most powerful foot massager I have tested so far. The combination of rotating massage rollers and inflatable air cushions works the foot very intensively from several sides.
After opening, the manual lies on top. Underneath are the essentials for operation:
The remote control is particularly practical in everyday use. During the massage you do not have to lean forward, you can change intensity and modes directly from the sofa.
The small extra foot plugs into the front of the device. It lets you angle the massager slightly if that position is more comfortable.
At roughly 40 × 38 × 24 cm (15.7 × 15 × 9.4 in), the Bob and Brad 721 is one of the larger foot massagers. On the one hand that is something to consider for storage. On the other hand, the interior offers generous space as a result.
According to the manufacturer, this large version fits feet up to EU size 48 (US men’s 14). The weight is around 3.4 kg (7.5 lb). It is still easy to carry, but you should have suitable storage space for the long term.
The power adapter cable is pleasantly flexible and offers enough leeway for placing the unit next to the sofa or armchair.
A genuinely sensible point is the removable fabric liners. Your feet are in direct contact with these covers, so with regular use it should be possible to clean them.
The liners are easy to remove and wash separately. That keeps the foot massager hygienically clean without having to clean the entire device laboriously.
The controls sit at the top centre between the two foot openings. All functions can be set both directly on the control panel and with the remote control.
At every start, all modes are active and set to the lowest level. That makes sense, because this foot massager really works powerfully. If you have sensitive feet or have not used more intense massagers before, you should definitely start low.
The kneading massage is generated by rotating rollers. Three intensity levels are available:
The kneading massage can also be switched off completely. The level mainly affects the speed at which the rollers work.
My personal favourite is the lowest level. The feet are kneaded slowly and pleasantly without the session feeling hectic. Combined with stronger air compression it still produces a very intense massage.
The air compression works with inflatable cushions. They press the foot against the massage rollers and clearly amplify the effect.

The maximum level is reached with several button presses and is very intense. There is no separate field for it on the control panel. If you are sensitive to pressure, approach it slowly.
Besides the strength, the sequence of the air compression can also be set. The Bob and Brad 721 offers three air modes:
Mode A is a good choice if you want the massage to be varied. If you prefer an even rhythm, choose B. Mode C suits anyone who likes sustained, strong pressure.
The heat function can be switched on, set in three levels or deactivated completely. According to the manufacturer, the three heat levels are approximately:
In winter, extra warmth on the feet is of course very pleasant. During my test period it was still warm, though, so I mostly left the function switched off.
With heat as well as high massage or pressure intensity, your personal comfort should always come first. If you feel unwell, numb, irritated or in pain, stop the session. The device is meant for massage and relaxation and does not replace a medical examination or treatment.
After trying all combinations, the following setting proved particularly effective for me:
That gives you a strong, intense foot massage throughout the session. The slowly working rollers meet noticeable air pressure. For very tense feet this combination works especially well for me.
My wife, on the other hand, finds the high levels too strong and prefers low to medium settings. That shows quite clearly how important the individually adjustable intensities are.
A session automatically lasts 15 minutes. Then the timer ends the massage on its own. So you do not have to watch the clock and can simply lean back.
Everyday use shows the real strength of the device: kneading movements, shiatsu massage and air compression interlock. The foot is not only worked at one spot but massaged simultaneously by the rollers and the air cushions at the sides.
The result is a session that is clearly stronger than with many other foot massagers. For beginners or very sensitive feet, the lowest level is therefore the right starting point.
For me, the Bob and Brad 721 is the most powerful foot massager I have tested so far. The combination of kneading massage and air compression in particular puts plenty of force on the foot.
Besides the intense massage, the extensive settings are the big positive. Kneading, air pressure, air modes and heat can all be adapted to your own preferences. Add to that the practical remote control, the automatic 15-minute timer and the washable fabric liners.
If you are looking for a particularly powerful foot massager with heat and air compression and have enough space to set it up or store it, this is a clear recommendation. If you only want a very gentle massage, you should definitely start with the lowest levels and check whether the intensity suits you.
